Vintage DAMASCENE Bracelet and brooch set -- damascene antique bracelet and brooch - black and gold The bracelet is 7”long on the inside of the bracelet when closed and is 1" wide. Vintage Damascene Brooch, Measures 1 1/2”this clasp was only use from 1850 to 1910 very old kept very good care of. Damascening is the art of inlaying different metals into one another-typically, gold or silver into a darkly oxidized steel background-to produce intricate patterns similar to niello. The English term comes from a perceived resemblance to the rich tapestry patterns of damask silk.

 Condition: Mint. High quality.
